Woman's Day

I am a woman.

      Yesterday was a day.
So...I used said day to create this...

Color is off as I shot these at night with what little artificial lighting I have in our basement hallway. The walls are actually yellow.

Got the idea while surfing the internet. Apparently this wreath is on the cover of October 2010 Woman's Day magazine. It wasn't difficult to make, nor expensive, just a little bit of time (~1.5 hours). This would be a great way to utilize your May Arts ribbon if your lucky enough to have a stash! I just grabbed a roll of Wally-World $2 black cutout webbing ribbon, some black gorilla duct tape, two bags of Brach's candy corn (I used about 1.75- the boys started nibbling on the rest,)my low temp glue gun, and a foam wreath from Michael's (use your  40% off coupons ladies and gents) and set to work. The boys enjoyed helping me and watching it all come together. The website recommended drying the candy out first for 7-10days and then adding a layer of Modge Podge to preserve the wreath for next year. I plan to just let it hang out to dry naturally and Modge Podge later. (I have no patience, you see!)

What are you crafting up for the fall holidays? Leave a comment and share with the rest of us. :-)

Shot to the Boo-TAY

Yep...that's what happened to me at approximately 11:15 AM today. Nothing like a huge bout of severe seasonal allergies to knock me off of my feet and to  take me out of the ball game (er...actually off of the tennis courts) for several days. Finally feeling a wee bit of relief but still a long way to go to normal. I sooooo don't have the patience nor the time for this. Need to remind myself to be grateful. And, although, it was slightly painful...and it DID burn...I AM grateful...for the allergy shot.
Here's hoping to Claritin Clear-ER days ahead and to posting a few recent pics too!

Some Days are Simply Beautiful a recent one spent with my dear friend, Lexi. We finally got some time to scrap together recently and not only did she bring along, her scrapbook stash of loveliness, her always-in-the-hand caramel macchiato Starbucks, her smile, and her constant overflow of creative inspiration, but...she also brought along an early birthday present...FOR me!! And can I just say that not only was it truly fitting, great colors and perfect for was...

(BTW: I hung it up the very next day!-here)

Thank you Lex, for the adorable, simply beautiful, simply me, thoughtful gift!!! But even more so, for the gift of your friendship. What a blessing indeed.

Have a simply beautiful day everyone. Now, go out and spread some "simply beautiful" happiness and make someone's day like Lexi made mine!! Perhaps, buy them a few "Shooters" from Steak-N-Shake?
