My December Daily PLUS Social {Media} Butterflies November Blog Hop

Happy merry making to all! Welcome to the November edition of Social {Media} Butterflies blog hop. If you started at the beginning, you should have arrived here via Shay's blog. If not, stop back there and then hop along to the following ladies' blogs. Be prepared to be inspired!! Leaving a little love (comments) along the way may find you winning some lovely little scrap goodies too! ;)

To start off this month, I am sharing a holiday layout I made primarily with Lily Bee's Christmas line.
The white balance is off on this picture-but no time to retake pic so it will have to do for now! Ha!

Layout is of our first dusting of  "Winter Cheer. (aka the white stuff/snow)."  I really liked the idea of making the whole layout like an "oversized" polaroid frame. Think I may do another one similar to it for this season! :)

And although this time is super crazy for me (for everyone) I have been dashing around trying to finish up some projects to ready myself for this season. Included in this list of projects is finishing up my December Daily 2011. I am nearrlllly done, having less that a week left to complete. Here is the cover and a few pages I thought I'd share. Really love this project every year. As in l-o-v-e.

Some digital, some hybrid, and lots of traditional pages in my album.
                            {Because I like mixing it up. A lot. :) }

Lots of October Afternoon Holiday Style made it into my album. Love that line and anything OA puts out! :) :) :) Makes me all kinds of merry. :)

These are just a sampling. If you want to check out more, you can find them in my November, December 2011 Archives. ;)

Besides getting some serious Cyber Christmas shopping done this week, I did make a rare trip out to run some errands and used up a gift certificate to my LSS. Here are a few lovelies I picked up there (minus the Jimmy Johns ;) ):
A little mint julep, Jimmy Johns against the back drop of buffalo plaid-made for a great on-the-go picnic-with a little added gems thrown in!

I have some scrappy deadlines to meet-so I am signing off for now. But plan on heading back here really soon. I have some exciting scrappy news to share! ;) Throughout the month of December I will be posting a lot more, showing sneaks and full photos of projects and layouts I am working on.

In the meantime, leave a comment here about what your holiday crafting plans are, and I will put your name in to win some of my favorite items for scrapping the holidays/winter!! It will be a lovely little collection-I promise! ;)

Little Black Dress NOvember Kit | Darling Handsome

This month at Little Black Dress our DT assignment challenge was to create things for celebrations; cards, gift wrap, decor etc.

I have to say I had quite a bit of fun (and still have loads of scrappy stash) left from this kit to play with!! Love that these kits are always packed with plenty of inspiration and fun products!

Here are my designs for this month:

My favorite OCTOBER AFTERNOON line from this summer's CHA releases = MIDWAY! So happy, fun, bold, bright, and versatile! Here I used the pp "Ring Toss" to punch out the graphic pie pattern. I machine stitched the pieces together to make a garland that wraps around this Christmas gift. A little Mr. Huey's Classic White on top of some woodgrain contact paper used as wrapping paper and a quick tag and voila! One Christmas gift wrapped and many more to go! LOL

When I saw this adorable chevron paper from My Mind's Eye, I knew I wanted to created a layout celebrating the fall colors and using Kinson Wilson's free Silhouette download created this layout:

A simple layout. Not reinventing the wheel here but playing with pretty photos, pp, stickers and stamps. And that is ok.

Next up, a birthday gift bag and tag. This came together quickly. I simply cut the pp to fit the stock bag, stamped "happy" on the banner, glued the crepe paper tissue to the handles, and created a quick card to go along with it.
I had a lot of fun with creating this one too! :)

On this gift wrap I took the tissue paper and added the striped ribbon down the center and buttons from the kit. I pleated and glued the crepe ribbon to form a rosette in lieu of a bow. Add gift tag and voila! Another gift wrapped.

This little lovely vintage card was the inspiration for this card. I layered up different pp and added a few of the Glitz dimensional stickers for a sentiment, some baker's twine, and machine stitching.

And the inspiration for this layout was the "To Do" list paper. Considering how frenetic our lives have been here in the past few weeks, I found it a timely layout for me to do. I took a sampling of events and pics from the week to incorporate with my journaling. Even though I have a Project Life album, it's fun to do a 12 x 12 layout once in awhile. This layout will be placed in it amidst all of my other weekly layouts throughout the year.

I have a few more layouts in the works. Plan to try to get them posted here soon, but I've been down for the count with severe allergies this past week. Still not feeling myself but plugging along. I will post them as soon as I get the chance! Tonight is band banquet. Tomorrow is taekwondo belt testing and Sat. is judging for speech and debate tourney. Then it's off to the cabin to try to move all of our belongings back in. (I hope). No rest for the weary! LOL

Please head over to LBD and see all of the other DT members galleries and leave some love. Lots of inspiration there to be sure. While you are there, pick yourself up a kit (and maybe one for a Christmas gift too!) ;) One can't ever start shopping for Christmas/Hanukkah too early these days! :)
