Hello everyone! Super excited that this month's SMB featured sponsor is Chic Tags!! I was fortunate enough to meet with and to get to know the sweet and talented Veronica and Albert Milan, owners and creative geniuses of Chic Tags at CHA this past January. I can tell you first hand they are true gems! Seriously lovely, inspiring people! So, before I get to my designs, I want to give a personal shout out of enormous thanks to Veronica (&Albert) for their generosity in sponsoring the Butterflies this month both with supplies, giveaways, and freebies too! Thanks so much for your support of SMB Milans!!
If you are just getting started on this blog hop please go to Chic Tags here to begin your journey. (You don't want to miss out on opportunity to win some fabulous giveaways along the way and perhaps pick up a few freebies too! ;)
**If you have been following along the hop, you arrived here via Jenny's blog.
Now, on to my design:
There were so many awesome tags to play with included in the Road Trip line, that I had difficulty choosing just one! {So I used 12 to get started} ;)
I set up a grid pattern with the numerical journaling tags and traced lightly around them with pencil onto the orange patterned paper. Then I sewed over the pencil lines as an outline to the tags. I used an exacto knife to cut out inside the machine stitches and layered various woodgrain Studio Calico patterned paper beneath/behind each stitched area.
(*Click on any pic to view larger).
From there I added photos and snippets of journaling of current things my youngest son was/is into on his "road trip" to the ripe ole age of 12. (He's got about a half a year to go to reach it!)
I wanted to be able to add many pictures to this layout so I placed some on the top of tags as well as beneath by piercing the patterned paper and adding brads so that the tags could swivel away to showcase the pictures and woodgrain paper beneath.
